Elton John: ‘I think Jesus was a … gay man’

February 19, 2010

Elton John’s  annual Oscar viewing party to benefit the Elton John AIDS Foundation is a little more than a week away, and his interview with Parade magazine is certain to help put a spotlight on the event. But it’s not talk of his charitable work that will grab the attention, but his claim that Jesus was gay.

“I think Jesus was a compassionate, super-intelligent gay man who understood human problems,” he told Parade. “On the cross, he forgave the people who crucified him. Jesus wanted us to be loving and forgiving. I don’t know what makes people so cruel. Try being a gay woman in the Middle East — you’re as good as dead.”

How does Elton John come to such a conclusion, Jesus gay? This boils my blood! Is he implying that only gay men are compassionate, super intelligent, and forgiving and that is why he supposes that Jesus was gay? Why would Jesus condemn homosexuality and be gay Himself, was he confused? Perish the thought! If anyone is confused it’s Elton John and in more ways than one. Let me clarify that comment, God created Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve; Elton your confused about Jesus and natural affection. This is a typical statement coming from someone that is reprobate in their thinking and that’s not my words that’s bible; let me show you.

Romans 1:18-32

18For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,

19because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them.

20For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.

21For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22Professing to be wise, they became fools,

23and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.

24Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them.

25For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

26For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural,

27and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.

28And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not proper,

29being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips,

30slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents,

 31without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful;

32and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.

That is unbelievable. I’m having a hard time understanding how Elton John could possibly be so bold and willing as to say this… Does anyone know, or have an idea as to what his reasoning for this is? I’m willing to bet that Elton John is going to have to make a public apology for this at some point… I don’t think his statement will survive. And dang it, I understand there are reasons people say they want to ban religion… but it is a constitutional right, and will be without end fought for. I also wonder if Elton John has embraced any GOOD reasons for religion… ‘God’ has been a positive force in people’s lives just as much as a negative. Let me ask you this Elton… all of those alcoholics and addicts suffering in A.A. and rehab with very little scientific method (at this point) to help and them recover from their ‘alcoholism’ or drug use this point… cannot be helped with ‘God’ or giving themselves to a ‘higher power’? I think many recovered addicts would disagree with you… and say that religion serves a reasonable purpose in this world today, and until no longer necessary. That day is not today.
